Couplet

So another type of poetry I wrote in my English Class is called a couplet. Two consecutive, rhymed lines of poetry, rhyme pattern: a a. I just felt that I needed to write a poem about the student since I am one. It really just describes me(the student) and my life as a student. In one class I did actually fall asleep(:But really, it applies to all students and I am sure that they can relate to it in some way or another!
Enjoy

The student

It is not unusual to see a student study till early morning
Nor see that poor pupil in class quite accidently snoring

Why you would do it too
If you had a hundred subjects, just to name a few

Countless hours spent in front of a computer or book
Don’t really brighten the student’s outlook

Not enough sleep and constantly thinking about what needs to be done next
Students take whatever breaks they can, even if it is just to text

Coffee, and an energy drink
Students can’t usually do without or they sink

Text books, planners, candy wrappers, a laptop, notes
All this and much more stuffed into backpacks and totes

Ear buds in ears, laptops on laps, glazed looks on tired faces
These signs give away the many students that can be found in all places
