Watercolor

In my English class two year ago, I learned about Scotland. My class was given several assignment options. I choose to make a map. I traced it on wax paper and than painted it with water colors! The reason I choose to paint on wax paper, as apposed to paper, was because I wanted to try something new. It almost looks like stain glass when I hold it up to the light.

Enjoy

  1. Just wondering, how is wax paper different from normal paper? Pros and cons. I'm guessing that you couldn't draw with graphite on wax paper. Is the top of the paper covered with a layer of wax? Does that affect how the paint applies? I'm sorry, so many questions. =)

  2. Well I used pencil to trace first and then outlined everything with a sharpie. I used the less waxy side if you can call it that(: It shrivels the paper up a little which doesn't happen to paper. But I like it as it gives the picture texture. I enjoyed doing it so maybe someday I will paint on more wax paper.
    Hope that answers your questions.
