Poetry Warm Up

In English, I have started writing poetry. I will also be writing many other things that pertain to this topic. Here is an assignment were I write a poem with the five sense and describe something. I picked winter.

Winter

Looks like a cloudy Sky

Looks like skiing and snow forts

Looks like children running in the rain bare foot

Feels like freezing snow in a warm hand

Feels like a windy, biting, and bitter cold night

Feels like a cozy blanket, soft and fuzzy socks, comfy pillows

Tastes like rich thick eggnog

Tastes like striped red, green, and white candy canes

Tastes like sweet hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream

Smells like a smoky and crackling fire

Smells like a lit creamy vanilla scented candle

Smells like the delicious aroma of butter cookies and gingerbread coming from the kitchen

Sounds like blissful peace and quiet

Sounds like Christmas carols in the night

Sounds like light and rhythmic falling of rain on the roof
